Las Vegas Zantac lawsuits are being filed against the drug’s manufacturer, Sanofi-Aventis, for failing to warn consumers about the risk of cancer associated with the use of the medication. Zantac (ranitidine) is a medication used to treat heartburn, ulcers, and other gastrointestinal conditions. It is available over-the-counter and by prescription. Zantac belongs to a class of drugs called histamine-2 blockers, which work by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach.
Zantac was first approved by the FDA in 1983 and is now available in generic form.
